For Mac:

1. Install Clash X Pro (free download) on to your computer first before you arrive in China.
2. Copy and paste the 1-click set up link we provide to you after you booked the retreat. 
3. Done! When you need to use the internet, just turn on Clash X Pro first and enjoy.
4. You may have to switch between different servers depending on their speed throughout the day. Just refresh and see which servers are showing the highest speed in green and select that one. You can also try different servers for different types of sites – observe which server performs the best and assign it to different categories of sites (such as ChatGPT, Netflix or general browsing). 
5. When you need to access certain government websites (for example, you need to access US government websites such as healthcare.gov or the DMV), you need to set your server to a US server in order to access these websites. 
6. Occasionally, websites block VPN users. In that case, do one of the following:
   1. Try quitting Clash X Pro, and see if you can access the website. Despite the fact that most non-Chinese websites are blocked, some are okay to access without VPN. So you should try it first before proceeding to the next step. 
   2. If you cannot access the site without VPN, you should tether your computer to your mobile eSim hotspot. This is not considered VPN by many sites and it may solve your issue. 

For PC:

If you are a PC user, please download Shadowsockets before arriving in China. You will also be provided with a 1-click installation link from us.

For iPhone:

Download Shadowrockets app (please don’t confuse this with Shadowsockets).
