By accessing https://www.chinadigitalnomads.com, submitting payment, or participating in a China Digital Nomads retreat, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before booking.
1. About China Digital Nomads
China Digital Nomads (“we,” “us,” or “our”) organizes community-based co-working retreats in China for remote workers, digital nomads, and travelers. These retreats are not tours and are not intended to function as guided sightseeing programs.
2. Eligibility & Participation
Participation is subject to approval. We reserve the right to accept or decline applicants to ensure a safe, respectful, and aligned group environment.
Participants must:
Be at least 18 years old
Be capable of living independently in a group setting
Take responsibility for their own work obligations, health, and personal belongings
3. Booking, Payment & Pricing
All prices are listed in USD unless otherwise stated
Retreat fees include only what is explicitly listed on the retreat page
Flights, visas, insurance, meals, and personal expenses are not included unless stated
Optional excursions may involve additional fees disclosed in advance
By submitting payment, you authorize China Digital Nomads (or its payment processor) to charge the agreed amount at checkout.
4. Payment Processing
Payments are processed via third-party payment processors (such as Stripe, PayPal, or similar). China Digital Nomads does not store or process your full payment card details.
By making a payment, you also agree to the terms of the relevant payment processor.
5. Cancellations, Refunds & Chargebacks
Our refund policy is based on the retreat start date and is as follows:
More than 45 days before the retreat start date:
100% refund, no questions asked.30 to 45 days before the retreat start date:
50% refund of the total amount paid.Less than 30 days before the retreat start date:
No refund. No exceptions.
Refunds apply regardless of reason, including personal circumstances, visa issues, scheduling conflicts, illness, or travel disruptions.
No refunds are provided for:
Early departure
Unused days
Missed activities
Participants agree not to initiate chargebacks or payment disputes without first contacting us at hello@chinadigitalnomads.com to attempt resolution. Unauthorized chargebacks may result in removal from the retreat and exclusion from future programs.
We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers trip cancellation, illness, and unexpected disruptions.
6. Changes to the Program
We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to accommodation, activities, schedules, or excursions due to weather, safety concerns, availability, local regulations, or unforeseen circumstances. Such changes do not entitle participants to refunds.
7. Force Majeure
China Digital Nomads is not liable for failure to perform obligations due to events beyond reasonable control, including government restrictions, natural disasters, pandemics, transportation disruptions, or regulatory changes. Refunds are not guaranteed in such cases, though credits or alternatives may be offered at our discretion.
8. Health, Safety & Responsibility
Participants are responsible for their own health, insurance coverage, and compliance with local laws. China Digital Nomads is not responsible for injury, illness, loss, theft, visa denial, or actions of third-party providers.
9. Code of Conduct
Participants must behave respectfully toward others, local communities, staff, and property. Disruptive or inappropriate behavior may result in removal without refund.
10. Digital Work & Connectivity
While we select accommodations with reliable internet and may provide VPN support where stated, uninterrupted connectivity is not guaranteed. Participants are responsible for managing their own work obligations.
11. Photography & Media
By participating, you grant China Digital Nomads permission to use photos or videos taken during the retreat for marketing purposes, unless you opt out in writing.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, China Digital Nomads shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation in the retreat or use of this website.
13. Privacy
Personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
