Google Maps or Apple Maps do not work very well in China. Therefore, it is important to download local Chinese navigation apps to navigate in China. 

The main apps we recommend:

How to change from Chinese to English display in Amap (it is defaulted to Chinese):

1. Tap the person icon on the bottom right corner first. Then tap the little hexagon icon on the top right.
2. Then scroll down to the option that says 通用（4th one counting from the bottom excluding the 2 buttons)
3. Then scroll down to 语言设置 (3rd one from the bottom)
4. Then choose English.
